Skill Attributes and employment development
I am a tertiary level student, pursuing my bachelors’
degree in Computing, and currently I am in my first semester of my first year
studying four modules.
One of the modules of the first semester is study skills
for computing which has been designed for developing soft skills required for
studying computing. This course includes Writing blogs and personal development
statements, also conducting group works, preparing project reports, creating
power point slides and performing presentations which eventually help us to
improve our presentation and documentation skills. I believe studying this
course will help me develop my confidence and act as a crucial phase in preparing
myself to face tough job interviews and work in the real world.
Problem Solving for IT is the module in which we
learn techniques and gain knowledge about solving IT related problems. It helps
us builds our thinking capabilities to solve problems and issues, by understanding,
brainstorming, creating and applying logics.
Employers in the real world, hire skilled people having problem solving
capabilities. I expect to develop my ability to be creative and solve problems
with my intelligence and logic, by studying this course.
As a computing student, having a sound knowledge of
programming and coding is very essential, thus Introduction to programming is a
very important module. This module majorly includes basic JAVA programming,
programming principles, understanding of object-orientation and get idea of simple
java coding. I aspire to become an IT professional and because of having keen
interest in programming, studying this course will act as the base and will
help me learn further programming and eventually work as a programmer in the
future.
Logic is a module, which provides us with
mathematical knowledge to solve IT problems technically. Logic is very
important for programming while building softwares. It is very essential for
every programmer to have mathematical knowledge for programming. Studying this
module will enhance my calculations and mathematical logics. In the future it
will help me apply these logics, during software building.
